Frequently asked questions

How old does my child have to be to go for a pony ride?
-Pony rides are appropriate for children between the ages of 3-7 years old.
-The child must be able to sit up alone, unassisted.
What time should I be there for a pony ride?
Pony rides are recommended to come between trail ride arrival/departure times.
This will be the shortest wait time.  If call to ask about a recommended time be
advised you will  be given only a suggested time; as animals are living creatures they
are not predictible like automated rides!
So please be patient and understanding if there is a wait, so that the animals can
receive a needed break or bucket of water! :)
What time do I need to be there for a trail ride?
-30 minutes prior to Ride start time.
-This will give enough time to fill out release of liability and get fitted for helmets.
What if we are running late?
-Due to the popularity of the programs we cannot accept late arrivals and the
            tour will not wait.
What if the weather is bad?
-The Ride will go rain or shine. If for any reason White Mountain Horseback Riding
closes due to weather you would be refunded in full.
Where does the ride go?
-The ride leaves the yard, heads towards the Saco river on a private
trail through the woods and along the fields; designated just for the horses.
How fast does the horse go?
-This is just a walking ride and the horses will not go faster then a walk.
-We are a gentle ride for tourists to enjoy the beautiful White Mountains at a
            scenic pace on horseback.
The horses' health is our number one priority, and 5hours of walking 7days a
week with beginner riders is more than enough work for them!  If you are looking
for a more advanced ride we are unfortunately not that place.
